On November 16, 2017 the School of Health Professions (SHP) faculty and staff held the First Annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck lunch. The event was organized by the newly created SHP Events Committee chaired by Prof. Pamela Karp  and was an astounding success. Dishes brought in ranged from the traditional sweet potatoes, cranberry-apple stuffing and corn pudding to the more exotic Jordanian-style rice, japchae (Korean glass noodle stir-fry) and a quinoa/black bean salad made with parsley, oregano and cilantro harvested from the NYIT garden the day before. The meal was concluded with mouth-watering desserts that included pecan pie, brownies and banana pudding. Dean Sheldon Fields gratefully acknowledged the team effort that enabled all attending to experience a relaxed enjoyable lunch shared with colleagues from across departments.
