Hockey Night with the Canucks on March 13

Mar 20, 2019

On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, we went to watch a game of hockey, and it was Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Rangers. Vancouver Canucks is a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This game had a lot of attention as it wasa battle between the east and the west!

We reached Rogers Arena at 6:30 p.m. and got the tickets. The students were excited as many were about to witness an ice hockey game for the first time. As we entered the arena, the atmosphere was so
energetic. Before the game, we stood up for the national anthems of U.S.A. and Canada. As the game started, we were amazed to see such high-speed ice hockey action, live! The New York Rangers were aggressive during the start, but the Canucks defended pretty well. None of them score in the first period. The Canucks finally scored in the beginning of the second period. All of us just stood up and cheered enthusiastically for the home team! They scored again soon, which gave them a good lead. The second goal was a one-on-one and it was so pleasing to watch the player showcase his skills! After a while, the Canucks scored again, their third goal in the same period. The crowd was wild, and the students were filled with so much energy. The second period was surely for the Canucks. The students were awestruck when they saw such physical action taking place, such as players falling, banging on the wall, and many other actions. The third period started and soon the Rangers got their first score. As the period was on the verge to end, the Rangers decided to take out the goalkeeper and get an extra player, which is known as empty net. However, they couldn’t score, and the Canucks did a counter-attack and scored! So, the final score was Canucks 4 – Rangers 1.
