New York Institute of Technology’s Vancouver campus took its first international field trip, and it was very successful. Twenty-three students participated in the field trip, which was organized and lead by Dr. Amba Sekhar, Associate Professor for School of Management. On the trip, students visited cultural and industrial sites in China. While there, the students visited the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (CanCham). CanCham is “the pre-eminent member driven organization supporting Canadian business and community interests. CanCham informs and promotes Canadian interests in Eastern China and fosters connections within the Canadian business community and with its Chinese counterparts” (CanCham). As a result of this visit, the Vancouver campus is in the process of getting a membership to CanCham, so that students can use and benefit from their resources.
