Successful Paws for Cause Fundraising Initiative for the North Shore Animal League

Jul 11, 2017

Throughout the spring 2017 semester, our School of Management Debra Vogel Student Advancement Student Advisory Board and Beta Sigma Honor Society student members fund raised for the North Shore Animal League. The North Shore Animal League “provides a wide range of services for residents of the New York/ metropolitan/ tri-state area, including [a] pet adoption center, a pet health center offering affordable veterinary care, dog training services, and so much more” (“About UsNorth Shore Animal League America). It is currently the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.

Ms. Patthara Chandaragga, Student Advisement Specialist for the School of Management, and Ms. Amanda Mora, a current Hospitality student, came up with the idea of creating this exceptional fundraiser, titled “Paws for Cause,” under the Student Advisory Board and Beta Gamma Sigma programs. All students within our program were able to donate toys and food items to receive Student Advancement points.

On June 24, Dr. Robert Koenig and family, Patthara Chandaragga, some members of the Debra Vogel Student Advancement Student Advisory Board and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society student members visited the North Shore Animal League and delivered the donations that were given made the semester. They raised and delivered over 350 pounds of brand new toys and food items that are now being used by the dogs and cats that are sheltered there.

Paws for Cause fundraising efforts will take place every fall and spring semester to ensure that the beautiful and innocent animals in the North Shore Animal League are always supported by the School of Management NYIT community.
