New York Tech-JUFE M.B.A.'s Basketball Team Claims Championship Title
In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the New York Tech's partnership with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) M.B.A.’s basketball team soared to glory, clinching the championship title at the 11th Global Business School Intercollegiate Basketball Invitational, organized by the Business School Basketball Association. The tournament, held in Shenzhen from October 21st to December 16th, showcased 22 teams from renowned institutions such as the University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, Harbin Engineering University, Nankai University, and Tongji University, among others.
Under the leadership of Coach Cui Liang, with captain Wang Xiao, and team manager Chen Mo, the New York Tech-JUFE M.B.A. program students formed a team characterized by resilience and determination. Supported by the sponsorship of alumnus Zeng Yong's company, Lanhe Technology (Shenzhen) Ltd., the team made their way through the competition, achieving victory after victory and ultimately lifting the championship trophy in a well-deserved celebration.
The New York Tech-JUFE M.B.A. basketball team showcased their determination and prowess, defeating the representatives from the University of Macau, Tongji University, and Harbin Institute of Technology in the Round of 16, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals, respectively. Facing fierce competition from the combined team of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College in the finals, the team continued their exceptional performance. Their offense was on fire, consistently scoring, and their defense stood strong like a rock. They claimed the championship with a final score of 88:70. In recognition of his outstanding performance throughout the tournament, alumnus Da Hao was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the event.
The Global Business School Intercollegiate Basketball Invitational is one of the largest sporting events in the alumni community of business schools in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The tournament has been held continuously for 12 years since its inception in 2011, with over 100 games taking place during the fourth quarter of each year. It has attracted more than 60 domestic and international business schools, with over 10,000 players participating and hundreds of thousands of alumni involved. The event promotes the principles of "health, sharing, and dreams" and advocates for an active and healthy lifestyle among the alumni.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the New York Tech-JUFE M.B.A. cooperation between China and the United States, the basketball team members presented the championship trophy as a gift to their alma mater, symbolizing their gratitude and pride for their academic institution. This victory not only represents their exceptional basketball skills but also serves as a testament to the fruitful partnership between New York Tech and China in the field of education.
