NYIT Climate-Resilient Urban Design Research Presented at Paris City Hall for COP21 Paris

Jan 07, 2016

The UCCRN Assessment Report is the key climate science resource for city leaders. It serves as the knowledge base for city action, just as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) serves as the knowledge base for national climate change actions. NYIT Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Design Program, Jeffrey Raven, FAIA, LEED BD+C, is Coordinating Lead Author of the UCCRN Assessment Report Urban Planning and Design Chapter. The NYIT Urban Climate Lab graduate urban design student work is prominently featured in the report. Professor Raven presented the Urban Planning and Designchapter findings to international experts and institutional representatives at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. (See Report p.7 and p.21). Note: The UCCRN Assessment Report Executive Summary was presented in Paris at COP21. The full UCCRN Assessment Report (Cambridge University Press) will be ready in 2016.
