MAURD Students Participate in Milano International Architectural Workshop

Oct 24, 2014

MAURD students traveled to Milan, Italy in October, as part of their Fall 2014 Design Studio titled “Re-forming Milano”. Led by Professors Michael Schwarting and Giovanni Santamaria from the NYIT School of Architecture and Design, the students participated in the Milano International Architectural Workshop, MIAW at the Politecnico di Milano. Professors Schwarting and Santamaria were also guest directors for MIAW, and gave public lectures during the proceedings. MAURD students participated in workshops directed by guest faculty from France, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands with over 130 European students attending, including 32 other architectural students from the Politecnico School of Architecture. The work produced by MIAW is on exhibition at the Politecnico and was presented to Milan’s Deputy Mayor, key stakeholder organizations and Politecnico administration. An exhibition reproduction is displayed at NYIT and will be published.
