On April 21^st, 2018, our graduate students alongside the AIANY’s Planning & Urban Design Committee workshopped as a part of New York City’s Department of Transportation’s Car Free Earth Day. Broadway shut down between Union Square and Times Square,as well as in Upper Manhattan to promote the event. The committee’s demonstration area between 18^th and 19^th street, Future Streets Launchpad arranged presentations for the public about private automobiles and uses for public land. It engaged by the public by providing physical models, virtual reality immersion, and a series of display boards.
