NYIT Urban Design Graduate Students Participate in AIANY Charrette on Midtown Manhattan
An important component of our graduate program is to provide cross-fertilization between the profession and academy. Prof. Jeffrey Raven’s role as Co-Chair of the American Institute of Architects (NY) Planning & Urban Design Committee serves as a unique learning opportunity for the NYIT community of urban design students. For example, ARCH702 Design Studio (Spring 2016) focused on Midtown West Manhattan. The AIA Planning & Urban Design Committee organized an Urban Design Charrette at the NYC Center for Architecture on the same subject. The design teams comprised leading NYC practitioners collaborating with NYIT graduate students.
