The graduate program held an event for the graduating Masters students in December to celebrate their achievements. Hosted by Program Director Jeffrey Raven, the reception provided the opportunity for the two graduate student cohorts to celebrate this milestone together with faculty and staff. The graduating students have accomplished a great deal during their 3 semesters at NYIT including a presentation of their Urban Climate Lab (ARCH 702) research at the NYC Department of City Planning; jointly with a prominent international climate scientist and the President of the American Institute of Architects (AIA NY). They contributed to the Milan International Architectural Workshop in Italy, participated in the AIA Regional Working Group on Resilience, and attended the UN Habitat Conference at the United Nations.The graduates held various internships with Regional Plan Association, the NYC Department of City Planning, the Office of Bronx Borough President, Kushner Studios Architects, NYC government’s waterfront unit, AIA NY, and Perkins Eastman Architects & Planners.
