In addition to labs and lectures, we offer opportunities to take part in clinical preceptorships and OMM research activities, poster presentations, and education efforts. We also encourage you to join one of our NYITCOM-affiliated student organizations such as the Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO), which sponsors events and preceptorships that will give you a chance to further develop your knowledge base and enhance your technical abilities.

Student Competition Opportunities

Stanley Schiowitz, DO, FAAO Case Competition

Participants present clinical cases incorporating osteopathic principles and practices. The winner of this annual case competition represents NYITCOM at the A. Hollis Wolf Case Competition at the American Academy of Osteopathy's annual Convocation.

OMM Clinical Case Integrate Competition

Third-year osteopathic medical students are encouraged to submit clinical cases demonstrating the integration of OMT into their patient care experience. The top case each month will be posted on the OMM Digest and entered for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate awarded to the best case submission annually.
