The Fall 2020 Symposium, 12/11
We would like to take this time to invite you to the fall 2020 symposium presented by the Department of Digital Art and Design which will take place Friday, December 11, 2020 at 6:00 PM. The title of the symposium is Future Facing Art, Design, and Technology, and will include lightning talks and a panel discussion with professionals in the industry that have worked on innovative projects. Topics will include how machine learning is influencing the future of interactive development, stories about the pitfalls of procedural design, discussion on how these professionals got started in their field and more!

New York Tech Donates 3D Printed Face Shields to Local Hospitals
New York Tech is doing its part to help local hospitals during the COVID-19 crisis. The College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Architecture and Design, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine have teamed up to 3D print PPE (specifically face shields) that are currently in high demand by healthcare workers. This NY Tech-wide effort is led by Suzanne Musho, chief architect and vice president for capital planning and facilities management.

M.A. Master Thesis 2020
On Friday, May 15th, the Master Thesis 2020 that the UX/UI Design & Development M.A. students are showing at the end of the semester. The projects will be presented virtually using the Zoom video conferencing platform. We recommend joining the meeting using a computer as we will be sharing a presentation.

Intrepid Museum, AR/VR Workshop, Perception vs. Reality: The intersection of AR/VR and Neuroscience
On Saturday, February 1st, New York Tech’s Digital Art and Design department’s HIVE team gave various fun and educational VR/AR workshops to over 175 attendees at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum as part of the event “Perception vs. Reality: The Intersection of AR/VR and Neuroscience.” The event was focused on the intersection of AV/VR and neuroscience, how the human brain perceives/uses this technology, and also showcased a VR space experience.

Tottenville High School Visit of NYIT Digital Art & Design // Manhattan Campus
On October 24th, 2019, the HS students came to tour the HIVE from 10 am – 2pm yesterday. I also thank you for your flexibility in accommodating the 40 students who showed up, when only 25 were confirmed. The day of activities in the HIVE, the TV Production Studio, the Fab Lab and the Engineering lab, concluded with an admissions presentation. Each senior was provided application information and an application fee waiver code (Thank you Luis, Marcelle and Karen). I have all HS attendee information including email addresses, and will follow up with a thank you to each and an offer for more information about our programs.
