Ascan Mergenthaler, Senior Partner at Herzog & De Meuron,
joins our M.Arch graduate seminar, ARCH 791 – Special Studies in Architecture,
taught by Professor Tom Verebes, to discuss Herzog & De Meuron’s
recently completed project, the Tai Kwun Cultural Centre in Hong Kong.
This seminar focuses on the architectural envelope as a mode of
comparison of the use of technology, through six exemplary building
envelopes, of six seminal buildings completed within the first 20 years
of this century.
