ARTIST STATEMENT

Little Storyhouse is a series of books that aim to help to promote and build positive behaviors amongst children ages 3-7. No matter what home a child is raised in, this series will be available for children so that they can learn fundamentals of kindness, manners, boundaries and more. Each book will have 15 concrete actions for the reader to take along with an illustration. The illustrations are hand drawn and the design style is colorful, playful and whimsical.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Chandler received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a concentration of Advertising from The University of Oklahoma in 2016. She is currently completing a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at New York Institute of Technology. After graduation, she plans to pursue a senior design opportunity in Austin, TX. At the beginning of her career, she worked as a copywriter for Fortune 500 brands such as Target but had an interest in graphic design that she decided to explore by getting her MFA. Her passion for design stems from a long love affair with the fine arts. She’s painted in her off time for the past decade and spends a lot of time perusing fine art museums and reading about European Impressionism. Graphic design gives Chandler a spot to find her artistic voice while also helping brands like the nonprofit she currently works for, Project ALS, achieve their goals and mission. As a part of her thesis, she is creating a series of illustrated children’s books, exhibiting her illustration style and branding. She has a passion for nonprofits and creating work that can help make the world a little better than the day before.
