Urban Manifesto Interview on Urban Resilience with Assoc. Professor, Jeffrey Raven
Urban Manifesto interview on Urban Resilience with Assoc. Professor Jeffrey Raven, Lucy Bullivant (Urbanista) and Prathima Manohar (The Urban Vision):
#UrbanManifesto live cast Urban Resilience with architect-urbanist Jeffrey Raven, FAIA, LEED AP BDC, Principal, Raven A+U, Associate Professor, Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Design, NYIT; Program Director over the past 8 years; and Co-Chair of the Planning & Urban Design Committee of the American Institute of Architects NY Chapter.
Global challenges – the strain of mass urbanisation and climate change impacting cities - are a focus of 21st century urban design. City neighbourhoods need to become more resilient. What do built environment professions most urgently need to learn from the granular scale at which urban scientists & climatologists are working? How can we bridge multidisciplinary design and science when it comes to building materials, thermal mass, dealing with anthropogenic emissions, through nature-based solutions, prototyping and retrofitting, and create compact, liveable and resilient cities?
Urban Manifesto is co-hosted by Lucy Bullivant, place strategist, author & founder of Urbanista.org and Prathima Manohar, entrepreneur and founder of think-do-tank The Urban Vision.
