Jason Buchheit Appointed Senior Research Fellow for 2024-2025 Academic Year

The Center for Offsite Construction is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Buchheit as a Senior Research Fellow for the 2024-2025 academic year. Jason brings over 25 years of design expertise in architecture with a focus on modular construction, resilient post-disaster building, and innovative fabrication techniques.

As the Director of Architecture at Danny Forster & Architecture, Jason has led numerous groundbreaking projects, including the AC Nomad Modular Hotel tower, the 570 Market St Modular tower in San Francisco, several high end apartment renovation projects, and a multi-year research and development project with Mitek in developing offsite construction products and technologies. Prior to Danny Forster & Architecture, Jason led projects for the Museum of Modern Art Expansion, the Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum, the NYC OEM Post-Disaster Housing Prototype, and developed multiple patents as a founding team member with Global Building Modules. His experience also spans multifamily housing, hotel projects, and cultural installations across diverse locations such as Europe, New York City, San Francisco, rural Pennsylvania, Miami, and Austin.

With a cross-disciplinary approach to technical innovation and design excellence, Jason has been at the forefront of advancing modular architecture and prefabrication. He has lectured at prestigious institutions including Pratt Institute, the New School, Penn State University, Columbia University, and the California College of Arts and Craftsand founded local chapters of Architecture for Humanity in New York, Austin, and San Francisco.

At the Center, Jason will focus on advancing the integration of modular construction with resilient building practices and product platform development.. His extensive expertise in prefabrication and innovative project management will contribute significantly to the Center’s mission of transforming the future of offsite construction.
