Established in 1983, MBI serves as the international non-profit trade association dedicated to this sector. The event offers professionals a platform to network, exchange ideas, learn from experts, discuss industry issues, promote new products, and receive awards and recognition. Attendees include manufacturers, contractors, architects, educators, designers, suppliers, and others involved in modular construction.

The 2025 World of Modular is scheduled for April 7–10 at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The conference features high-profile speakers, educational sessions, exhibits, and entertainment, highlighting the latest developments in commercial modular construction. Notably, the event also hosts MBI's annual Awards of Distinction, recognizing excellence in modular building and design.
