Co-Founder of Croissant, the "Uber of Coworking Spaces," Visits Professor Orin Davis's EMBA Class

Mar 01, 2018

Adam Chew, a 2012 graduate of NYIT, visited Professor Orin Davis’s EMBA Organizational Behavior class to discuss his co-founded startup, Croissant. According to The New York Times, Croissant is “a new app that hopes to become the Uber of rentable desk space” (“The Tricky Etiquette of Co-Working Spaces”). In addition to The New York Times, Croissant has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, PSFK, and Brit + Co. Croissant is now in eight cities across three countries. The startup was given early seed funding by Silicon Valley venture fund 500 Startups, and Croissant is currently a rising star in New York Silicon Alley.

When Adam visited Professor Orin’s class, he challenged the class to solve two important problems that the company faced. The questions involved discussing how people use coworking spaces and conference rooms, and how they can be encouraged to use conference rooms as much as coworking spaces. Furthermore, Adam asked the class to thing about how current users of the app could be used to help bring in new users. Students broke into groups to discuss the questions and brainstorm solutions, which they then presented to Adam, who enjoyed their insights.
