Whirlwind Steel Student Scholarship

As an advocate of higher education, Whirlwind Steel is seeking to help a current or prospective construction, engineering, or architecture student relieve some financial stress in the upcoming school year. They will be awarding a $1000 scholarship annually to a deserving student who displays a passion for continued education.


SHPE Scholarships

Organization: SHPE

Scholarships offered by SHPE include the following:

Boeing Scholarship: The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and leadership development among undergraduate Hispanic and Latino/and college students in STEM disciplines. Scholarship recipients MUST attend the 2017 SHPE National Conference in Kansas City, MO.

SHPE Chevron Scholarship: The SHPE Chevron Scholarship will provide financial support that will promote high academic achievement among students attending University of California – Davis, University of Houston, University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez, University of Southern California and University of Texas.

Eastman Chemical Company: The Eastman Chemical Company will support undergraduate students of sophomore standing and above majoring in Chemical, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineering.

John Deere Scholarship: The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and leadership development among Hispanic and Latino/and college students in STEM disciplines. Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors, and grad students concentrating in Aerospace, Agricultural, Electrical, Computer or Systems, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, Environmental and Weld Engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management and Management Information Systems

SHPE Northrup Grumman Scholarship: Northrop Grumman supports diverse and sustainableprograms that enhance the education experience for all students. The preferred majors for this scholarship are Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Systems Engineering.

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises: Telemundo Enterprises aspire to encourage academic excellence and leadership development among Hispanic and Latino/and college students in STEM disciplines. Applicants must participate in organizational activities and be attending college or universities in the following cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Phoenix. Winners of this scholarship will have the opportunity to have their name and photo featured on ElPoderEnTi.com and appear on air on Telemundo.

SHPE Dissertation Scholarship: SHPE will provide this scholarship to applicants who are enrolled in a STEM doctoral degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

SHPE Graduate Scholarship: SHPE will provide this scholarship to Graduate applicants enrolled in a STEM degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. The scholarship will be awarded upon the basis of academic standing and financial need.

SHPE Professional Scholarship: SHPE will provide this scholarship to applicants who are employed full-time in the U.S. or Puerto Rico in a technical career field AND enrolled in a STEM masters or doctoral degree program.

SHPE Undergraduate Scholarship: SHPE will provide this scholarship to applicants who are enrolled in a STEM degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. The scholarship will be awarded upon the basis of academic standing and financial need.

SHPE Scholarship – Graduating High School Senior: SHPE will provide this scholarship to applicants who will be enrolled in a STEM degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Applicant must be a SHPE Jr. Chapter member and join as a SHPE Student member upon graduation from high school.


Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research Program

The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research (GIAR) program has providedundergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences since 1922. By encouraging close working relationships between students and mentors, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning. The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. Students use the funding to pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, or for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.


DEED (Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments) Scholarship and Grants

DEED offers four types of scholarships: Educational, Student Internship, Student Research Grant, and Technical Design Project. Educational scholarships provides funding to support the education of students working toward technical careers that are in
short supply and high demand by electric utilities. Student internships provide work experience at an electric utility sponsored by a DEED member utility. Student grants provide funding to support research in an energy-related project sponsored by a DEED member utility. Technical design projects provide funding to support students working on a technical project of interest to electric utilities, especially engineering students working on their senior project.


AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellows Program

Organization: Advancing Science, Serving Society

This 10-week summer program places science, engineering, and mathematics students at media organizations nationwide. Fellows use their academic training as they research, write, and report today’s headlines, sharpening their abilities to communicate complex scientific issues to the public.


Best Value Schools STEM Scholarship for Women

Recognizing that the unique perspectives and life experiences women bring to the STEM field will aid in scientific innovation, improved product design and creative solution development, Best Value Schools seeks to provide at least one (1) $2,000 scholarship, twice per year, to a woman enrolled in a STEM degree program to not only help offset the future gender wage gap they are likely to experience, but to also encourage the development of these crucial technological skills that are necessary in our rapidly changing world. Financing your higher education can be overwhelming. National GEM Consortium Fellowships

GEM’s fellowship programs span the entire recruitment, retention, and professional development spectrum. GEM’s principal activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and Ph.D. levels coupled with paid summer internships. ACEC Scholarships

To promote the profession to the next generation, ACEC awards outstanding engineering students and helps New York retain promising young talent. ACEC New York administers a statewide scholarship program. Since the program’s inception in 2002, the council has awarded $708,000 collectively to 261 high-achieving engineering students attending New York State colleges and universities.


CrazyGames.com Student Scholarship

Selected Professions Fellowships

Google Travel and Conference Grants

To help break down the barriers that prevent underrepresented groups in computer science from attending leading tech conferences, Google offers Google Travel and Conference Grants for selected conferences in Computer Science and related fields.


NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program (S-STEM)

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program addresses the need for a high quality STEM workforce in STEM disciplines supported by the program and for the increased success of low-income academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who are pursuing associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Recognizing that financial aid alone cannot increase retention and graduation in STEM, the program provides awards to Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) to fund scholarships and to advance the adaptation, implementation, and study of effective evidence-based curricular and co-curricular activities that support recruitment, retention, transfer (if appropriate), student success, academic/career pathways, and graduation in STEM.

Lint Center Scholarships

This program is offered to help further the education and career development of scholars, especially in the areas of International Affairs, Counterintelligence and National Security. Workers in these fields and their children are encouraged to apply with the goal of improving national security and global understanding.


National Society of Black Engineers Scholarships

Scholarships offered by NSBE include the following:

Chevron/NSBE Corporate Scholarship 2017:

Chevron will award scholarships to students majoring in Information Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil and Environmental Engineering.

ExxonMobil Corporate Scholarship 2017:

Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil engineering major with a 3.5 GPA who is a US citizen or permanent resident and an undergrad sophomore or junior. Must attend an ABET approved engineering program. There is potential screening for internship opportunities.

NSBE/GE Corporate Scholarship 2017:

Since 1995, the GE African American Forum (AAF) Lloyd Trotter Scholarship Fund has generated more than $2.3 million, helping make the dreams of college come true for deserving and talented students. The beauty of this scholarship is it is ompletely funded by GE employees and the power of the GE Foundation’s Matching Gifts Program.


SAE Scholarships

Through generous contributions from various individuals, corporations and universities, SAE International is proud to award scholarship money to both undergraduate and graduate engineering students.


Society of Women Engineers Scholarships & Fellowships

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States. In 2016, SWE disbursed approximately 230 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $750,000.
