“I HAVE NO LIFE!”
It is possible to have a social life while maintaining a CGPA of 3.5 all it takes is being organized and some self motivation.By Mirette MisakStudent Life EditorSick of not remembering about an exam until three days before? Tired of missing events because you were too busy to remember? If so, it’s time you considered organizing your plans! Here are some useful tips to get you started:Buy yourself a planner and some post-it padsIt’s difficult to remember everything on your agenda if you do not make a note for yourself. Some try keeping it all in their head but it eventually stresses them out. To make it easier for yourself so that you are more relaxed and focused on the more important things write down everything in an agenda.Organize your living spaceYour room may be spotless, but is it organized? It is truly a myth to say that being neat is the same as being organized. Neat and clean means your room is not dusty and smelly. You can say your living space is organized if you did not have a problem finding any of your possessions. For example, put all your papers in separate files or even separate your whites from your colored clothes so that laundry won’t take forever. The more organized you are the easier life becomes!Have a plan in mindOften people complain that an agenda is good only if the person has the patience to follow it. True that! If you don’t motivate yourself with a plan in mind you will lose interest in following your schedule. Therefore have something to look forward to once you finished everything for the day. For example keep in mind that if you finish your paper early you can watch some T.V and maybe get some sleep for once. Or if you’re over and done with things for the week, you can go partying with your friends guilt free. Once you have started out with following your schedule even if it is doing something as simple as paying a bill, you will find yourself getting motivated to do more. The reward that comes with having your plan in mind is incredible but you need to stick to it for at least a week. If you fail to look at the agenda, keep trying the next day. Keep in mind your long term objectives as well because they give you a purpose to continue.Set your boundaries! No PROCRASTINATION!Have you ever realized how many distractions there are when you’re trying to finish up an assignment? Yes, we tend to choose hanging out with friends over finishing a paper that can be done later on that night. The horrible truth is that we have time for all the important things in life but we tend to waste it recklessly. Learn to say no if it can wait. That paper could take two days or two weeks depending on how much you procrastinate.
