The Doc’s Lab
Getting a scoop on today’s technologyDren AhmetajStaff WriterPoint, click, and shoot — this is the motto you have to follow when taking those memorable snap shots of your friends and loved ones. In this edition of the Doc’s Lab, we will be looking at Canon’s new digital camera the Canon Power Shot SD850 IS. The SD stands for Digital Elph. This is part of Canon’s new line of digital cameras. Canon is well known for digital cameras and among other products. Canon’s design of this model is a compact camera that fits into a pocket and the new features that are implemented are quite impressive. Let us see if we truly get a feel of being a paparazzo with this device. The Canon Power Shot SD850 IS (ISO) is a little thicker than most other digital cameras out there, but nonetheless it can still fit in a pocket. The main jump from other previous models of Canon’s Digital Elph lineup is the fact it has 8.3-mega pixels. Technically, the more mega pixels a camera has, the better the image quality. In the front of the camera, it has a 4x optical zoom lens, which is pretty good due to the fact that most other digital cameras only end up having up to 3x optical zoom. In the back of the camera, it spurts out a gorgeous 2.1 LCD screen and on the top of it is the viewfinder. A user can also adjust other settings depending if you are outdoors, in clubs, or wherever, right on the LCD screen. The Canon can also reach ISO levels up to 1,600???what’s the unit ,meaning the higher the sensitivity, the less light needed to make an exposure. I would not recommend going too high though because high ISO’s have the byproduct of producing image noise, which can fuzz an image when taken. One awesome feature of this SD850 is the face detection, which automatically targets a person’s face for auto focus and making sure that they are looking at camera before you take that shot. The image quality produces good colors and the sharpness were excellent, which was surprising for a digital camera. When I was taking shots, the SD850 took them quick.Overall, the Canon SD850 is great in terms of features and picture quality. I really did not find anything dissatisfying with this camera. This camera is perfect for taking pictures at any place at any time and making you feel like the paparazzi. Here is the best part: it will not cut your bank account either. Pricing starts at $300. The Doc gives the Canon SD850 IS five out of five bear pawns.

Do you need some proofreaders for the Chronicle, I can help out. I found some omissions in some of the articles.

Yes, we do need proofreaders. The editors do all they can but there’s a lot of text to proofread.
Now by omissions do you mean that there are missing facts in the stories? Or that there are errors grammatical or logical?
